Bounded by time, we all are. Time is progression.
Time is — reality.
A barrier to most professional men and women with audacious goals.
If you’re 9 hours at work, give that back to the company you’re working for. That’s what they paid for.
No matter what the programs or activities signed up for to make time for yourself and your family, the moment you answer the call from your client or head during break or you’re on rest day, it robs your time and your thoughts.
Most people I talked to, would say that if they’re doing a lot of things, it makes them productive. Honest enough, yes! But most of them would feel guilty to have rest not doing anything because it felt like they are not supposed to be doing that.
Our work already demands so much of our time in a week, in a day. Let’s not succumb to the patterns we have and try to break the habit that being busy is being productive, that having so much to do leads us to our becoming. But if that’s how you want your life is, if that’s what makes you who you are, then so be it. But if you’re not happy along the way, refocus on the things that matter—be it circumstancial or eternal.
Emptied mind is for me the most productive thing to do. You don’t have to be working, you’re just enjoying your moment of doing nothing at all; not even reading a book! Okay? Just a moment of silence, there’s clarity, there’s peace.
It’s very important to create a space, a boundary! If you want your time to be respected, respect your own time! People don’t have access if you don’t allow them to. Don’t try to be available for them all the time that you don’t have time for your passion, on what you love doing the most. Don’t spoil them! Or maybe you just love on being accessible all the time?
You may have uttered these words like Yes, sure! not again? I’m tired! Can I get a break? Weekend is too far! Can I not go to work? Can I escape to this whirlwind of work and meet ups? I don’t have time to sit around. You might just love your work more than your well being, more than your kids? Your salary more than your relationships? Your boss more than yourself? Or you may have a work-life balance already. But things that you think mattered didn’t matter at all.
We all have the luxury of time. That’s what I always believe in. But I guess I’m wrong. We don’t! Time is inexorable. I hope I can pause and play whenever I want, but I cannot. I’m not saying you have to rush things. I’m reminding you to do and spend on the things that is worthy of your time.
What activity you spend most of your time with? How do you spend it? Who do you spend it most? I would assume, that’s what you value the most. Right? It really is the best gift you could ever give to anyone.
I would then agree to that someone I hardly remember saying—Love is spelled as t.i.m.e.
Recalibrate your life!
